Nirvana may have been the band that put an entire generation in flannel, and Pearl Jam and Soundgarden both sold a lot more records, but Mudhoney were truly the band that made the first move which later made the grunge legendary.

this year mudhoney announced their return to Europe, for a tour that will end at our place, in a single show in Barby Tel Aviv on October 26th. after the visits of few of the biggest names of that era, such as the Melvins, Dinosaur Jr. and Faith No More, its time to salute the fathers of the genre and the pioneers of a generation, the ones who led the way of one of the most memorable and important musical era in the last decades.

"Mudhoney has a mythical status as the incarnation of authenticity, the most pure and beautiful of all grunge, before it has become a synonym for flannel." (dana kassler, walla)

"if Green River and the early Melvins were grunge's raw material, Mudhoney is the first meat served well done. filthy sound that set straight on the cortex, crazy garage influences, obvious Iggy Pop presence, lyrics of a bunch of horny teenagers. from the first sound it was obvious the revolution would not fail." (a balanced one, the blind janitor)

"the new release of Superfuzz Bigmuff, which arrives exactly with its 20 years celebration and to the important label Sub Pop, does good for one of the greatest album in rock history. not only it’s a collection of great songs, the direct contribution of the band to the American rock of the nineties is so eminent, that you can that Mudhoney changed the face of history, which would have looked different without them (..) one of the best records released this year – Mudhoney's new album, The Lucky Ones (..) in Mudhoney's case, such powerful and impressive authenticity is transferred, that it drags you back to listen to the album again and again (..) it’s a blues-rock-filth-stooges album, by a band in their 40s which blew away all Pitchfork's band. in a single burp smells of Budweiser, they've said more than most of the band who released hyped albums this year." (yair yona, small time romance)

"winning the title "the ugliest band in Seattle" has released in '89 an album who is considered as their best and most important one (..) Matt Lukin, their bass player, presented his talent in the best way alongside Mark Arm's fantastic lyrics, creating together an album that will have influenced bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam." (roais, the blind janitor)
