Hooverphonic are active since 1995 and are considered to be a leading group in the trip hop genre that emerged in the 90s. Hooverphonic is one of the three most successful Belgian bands alongside dEUS and K's Choice. they have released six studio albums, a live album and a DVD and a singles collection. many songs of their rich repertoire were used in TV series, films and ads in USA and in Europe.

on 1996 their debut album 'A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular' was released on Sony. the most successful single from the album, 2Wicky, topped the European charts and was included in several movies soundtrack. the media back then has defined the band as "the theatrical new sound of that era". after the first two lead singers has left the band, the group members adding the 17 years old Geike Arnaert to the band. a year later they have been touring around the world, supporting artists such as Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Fiona Apple and Apollo 440.

on 1998 their second album 'Blue Wonder Power Milk' was released and hit the world charts. on the same year the band has contributed their share to 'For the Masses', a tribute album for Depeche Mode, by performing a hypnotizing cover for 'Shake the Disease', which has drawn more attention to them.

on 1999 Hooverphonic have performed alongside Moloko in Europe and have recorded their third album 'The Magnificent Tree', with its three classics 'Vinegar and Salt', 'Every Time We Live Together' and 'Mad About You', an album that position them as a major band in Europe and taking them to the peak of their success. Hooverphonic are chosen to open the Euro 2000 which was held in Brussels, along with performing in various festivals in Europe that year and following one.

on 2002 the band has released their fourth album 'Hooverphonic Presents Jackie Cane' when the leading single of that album, 'The World Is Mine' has won numerous awards in Europe. the band kept on touring and a year later held a special acoustic show with a string quartet that was later on 2003 was recorded to an album – 'Sit Down And Listen To Hooverphonic'.

on 2005 their fifth, double album was released. its first side, 'More Sweet Music', contained 11 acoustic versions while the second, 'No More Sweet Music' contained an electronic remixes of the same songs.

on 2007, after a special tour celebrating their first decade – 10th Anniversary Club Tour, the band has released their sixth album – 'The President Of The LSD Golf Club'.
"It was time for something else. After ten years in Hooverphonic I wanted to change direction, get away from computers, away from orchestras. No synths, just the human feel of organs and mellotrons and harpsichords and record everything live, no more cutting and pasting. I wanted to hear a group playing on the album and pay homage to my musical roots: the psychedelic period of the sixties" says Alex Callier – the bass player, composer, producer and founder of the band.

Hooverphonic have decided to make it in a different way. after a decade they have recorded an album that takes them back to their original musical inspirations. the album was recorded in 11 days only, all live in a studio, with no synthesizers nor computers, which have defined their work so far. it’s the first time that Callier is contributing as backing vocals. the album was also mixed in the same way is was done decades ago when a similar mix console was used as the one Pink Floyd used in their album 'Wish You Were Here'. this is with no doubt their most experimental album so far. an album that is taking them back, full oh human melodies, produced in a methods that are now part of the past. the warm sounds, which were orchestrated by Alex Callier, together with the dominant voice of the lead singer Geike Arnaert, are integrating into the most ambitious album of the band so far.

Hooverphonic, the Belgian pioneer trip-hop\pop-rock veterans, will arrive for a single show on November 20th 2008 at Barby Tel Aviv. this is the band's last tour with their lead singer Geike Arnaert who has been performing and recording with them in the last decade.
